Pk.Accountants Strategic Alliance ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit pk.accountants and use our services. It applies to all visitors, newsletter subscribers, and membership applicants.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Name and email address
  • Professional credentials and firm details (membership applications)
  • LinkedIn profile URL (membership applications)
  • IP address and timestamp at the point of consent (newsletter sign-up)
  • Email engagement data (opens, bounces, unsubscribes) via our email provider
  • Communications you send us via the contact form

We do not collect payment information. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process and vet membership applications
  • Send the weekly Intelligence Briefing and Threat Radar emails (only with your explicit consent)
  • Send transactional emails related to your application status
  • Generate anonymised AI threat analysis using aggregated professional data (no individual data is shared with AI providers)
  • Respond to contact form enquiries
  • Comply with legal obligations

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Consent — newsletter subscription (you opt in explicitly; you may withdraw at any time)
  • Legitimate interests — processing membership applications and responding to enquiries
  • Legal obligation — where required by applicable law

5. Data Processors (Sub-processors)

We use the following trusted third-party services to operate the platform. Each is bound by their own privacy commitments and data processing agreements:

  • Supabase (supabase.com) — database and authentication. Stores subscriber records, membership applications, and email logs. Data hosted on AWS us-east-1.
  • Resend (resend.com) — transactional email delivery. Processes your email address to deliver newsletters and application notifications.
  • Vercel (vercel.com) — website hosting and serverless functions. Processes requests made to pk.accountants.
  • Groq (groq.com) — AI inference for the Threat Radar feature. Processes anonymised market data and news headlines only; no personal subscriber data is sent to Groq.

6. Data Retention

  • Newsletter subscriber records are retained while your subscription is active and for 24 months after unsubscribing, for compliance purposes.
  • Membership application data is retained for the duration of your membership, or 36 months if your application is declined.
  • Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including HMAC-signed unsubscribe tokens, row-level security on all database tables, and encrypted data in transit (TLS). No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in any email, or by contacting us
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@pk.accountants with your request. We will respond within 30 days.

9. International Transfers

Our data processors operate infrastructure primarily in the United States (AWS us-east-1). By using our services, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. We rely on standard contractual clauses and sub-processor agreements to ensure adequate protection.
